Aloha Borealis

Aloha! We are a team of NTU students working on this game development project for our FYP. 

GAME SYNOPSIS

In "Aloha Borealis: The Siblings' Time Travel Adventure," players are whisked away on an extraordinary adventure spanning centuries and cultures, following the intertwined destinies of two individuals, Yin and Yang, who find themselves bound by fate despite their differing interests. The game begins with siblings Pollux and Castor embarking on a hiking expedition, only to be transported back in time to ancient China after a meteor hits.

Upon awakening in the bodies of Yin and Yang, two individuals living in 2000 B.C., players discover a world where tradition and duty reign supreme. Yin, a spirited young woman, yearns to break free from societal expectations of women and pursue her dream of becoming a warrior. Meanwhile, Yang, a humble soul born into a family of warriors, harbors a passion for dance that he must keep hidden.

As players guide Yin and Yang through a series of challenges, mini-games, and checkpoint quests, they must navigate the complexities of ancient Chinese society while striving to fulfil their deepest desires. Along the way, they encounter obstacles such as familial obligations, cultural norms, and the expectations of their respective communities.

Join Yin and Yang in this tale of adventure, discovery, and the pursuit of dreams, offering you a unique blend of historical exploration and personal growth as they journey through the ages and learn that true happiness can be found in following one's heart.

INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for joining our Beta Testing phase! Your contribution is immensely valuable to our project. Below, you'll find instructions to guide you through testing our game. Beta testing serves as a crucial step in gathering feedback on our game design, gameplay mechanics, and difficulty level, aiding us in making necessary improvements.

1. Our game is a 2 player game, but only 1 computer is needed. It is recommended to find a partner to play the game together with you as collaboration efforts from two people are needed for most of the missions. Solo efforts are welcomed as well as the developers have tried to complete the entire game alone. If you're ready to test your skills, I encourage you to take on this challenge. Give it your best shot!
2. Please allocate 1 hour to yourselves and complete the entire game in one sitting as we do not have the option to save your progress currently. However if you do not have enough time, you may always go back to the main menu page and choose the chapter you last left off.
3. Skip options are available in some parts of the game. Through Alpha testing, there were some games that were challenging to complete. If there is no end to your ordeal, there is a skip option for you to carry on with the game.

Upon completing the game, we kindly ask for 15 minutes of your time to fill out the form below. While most written responses are optional, we greatly appreciate your cooperation in providing as much feedback as possible. Your insights will help us identify areas for improvement and enhance our game in future iterations.
